Notice to SHAPEFILE: The Shapefile format requires both files (.shp and .shx) when you are uploading. The .prj and .cpg files are optional. The Shapefile driver trims attribute names to 11 symbols when you write data. The 11 symbols is max value for attribute name in SHP format. Optionally you can specify the following files: CPG, PRJ, QIX. The CPG file contains codepage for fields data. PRJ contains a custom spatial refernce system. The QIX file increases a speed with geomtries searching.

SHP is the file extension for one of the primary file types used for representation of ESRI Shapefile. How to convert SHAPEFILE to PNG

  • Drop/upload a GIS file or select it from your cloud storage.

  • Select the render format from the drop-down list (the default format is PNG)
  • Select the render scale (the default scale is medium)
  • Select the Map reference system2 (the default system is Wgs84).
Use a popular spatial reference system from a list or choose a custom system to enter the functioning EPSG code (4–5-digit numbers that represent coordinate reference system definitions) by yourself.
We recommend choose "Undefined" to avoid repeated redefinition of the coordinate system (SRS).

  • The GIS Viewer allows the user to adjust Map Rendering Settings for the most accurate result:
    - Map Width and Map Height are for setting the exact dimensions of the render scale,

    - Padding is a padding from the edges of the image(map),
    - Warp Height and Warp Width are for changing the resolution of a raster image(map),
    - Extent.XMin, ExtentXmax, extent.YMin, Extent.YMax are to specify the bounds of a map to render. If no values are set, GIS Viewer automatically adds all objects from the GIS file to the rendered map.
  • Click the "Generate" button after all – GIS Viewer quickly processes and displays Geo Data on the screen. You can change the position and the scale of the rendered map with a computer mouse.
  • Click the "Download" to download the rendered file to any device, you can also save it to the cloud storage Drop Box or Google Drive by click the relevant links.
