All you need is a GIS file in any of the supported formats:
- kml, kmz
- geojson, json, topojson
- shp, dbf, shx, cpg, prj, qix
- mif, mid
- tab, map, id, dat
- gdb, gdbtable, gbdtablx
- tif, geotiff
Notice to GeoTIFF: The GeoTIFF driver reads both GeoTIFF and regular TIFF files. The GeoTIFF implementation doesn't support ground control points (GCP). GCP is a custom grid.
GeoTIFF is a TIFF-based raster format. Uses the TIFF 6.0 specification, which adds several types of geotags. The new geotags contain georeferencing information.
An SVG file is a Scalar Vector Graphics file that uses XML based text format for describing the appearance of an image. The word Scalable refers to the fact that the SVG can be scaled to different sizes without losing any quality.
