This app is designed for quickly getting all available information about an SRS by entering the appropriate EPSG code. The SRS reference app will help in getting the information of any SRS includes: the name of an SRS, its geodetic Datum1, the type of its coordinate system2 and its WKT3 (Well-Known-Text).
1Datum is the dimensions of the ellipsoid, taken as a basis in the selected country, fixed at a certain time, taking into account the coefficients of displacement and rotation of the ellipsoid, which bring it into line with the selected country.
2Most SRSs will be either Geographic (using the Spherical coordinates of latitude and longitude) or Projected (including thousands of Cartesian coordinate systems, each based on a map projection to create a planar surface of the world or a region).
3WKT (Well-known text) - text format of a vector geometry representation and a description of a coordinate system designed to share spatial data between information resources and services.
FAQ
-
❓ What is EPSG code?
EPSG code is a 4–5-digit number that represents coordinate reference system definitions. -
❗ Where to get EPSG codes?
Our Library has a wide selection of EPSG codes. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "EPSG Library" to see it. -
💻 How long will it take to get all the information of an SRS?
The app will immediately find the information and display the results on your screen. -
🌐 Does the app work on my phone?
