Convert an Outlook OST file into a ZIP archive of fixed‑layout XPS documents, one XPS file for each message. Each XPS page faithfully captures the message headers, body formatting and inline images exactly as they appear in Outlook, making it ideal for print‑ready archiving. The tool renders only message bodies; binary attachments stay in the original OST.

One XPS file per message

The converter opens the uploaded OST read‑only, walks every folder and extracts each email. For each message it creates an independent fixed‑layout XPS document that captures the full visual appearance, including pagination. All XPS files are then packaged into a ZIP that mirrors the original mailbox hierarchy (Inbox, Sent Items, subfolders).

Message content rendered faithfully

Each XPS page begins with the Outlook header block—From, To, Cc, Subject, Date—followed by the body rendered with original spacing, lists, tables, fonts, colours, and styles. Content flows across multiple XPS pages when needed. Inline CID images are baked in, and typical remote images are fetched at render time and embedded, producing a self‑contained snapshot.

Attachments are left in the OST

The conversion focuses on visible email content; binary attachments (PDF, Word, images, archives) remain stored in the original OST and are not rendered into the XPS files. The XPS documents contain only the message body and any inline images, giving a clean, printable record while preserving attachment data untouched in the source file.

Limits and scope

Full‑mailbox conversion
The converter processes the entire OST file, rendering every message it contains into XPS; partial or selective export is outside the tool’s scope.
Upload size governed by account tier
The maximum OST file size that can be uploaded depends on the user’s account tier, with larger limits available to paid subscriptions.

FAQ

Are inline CID images embedded in the generated XPS files?

Yes, images referenced with cid: in the email body are baked into the XPS page at the exact location where they appear.

What happens to regular (remote) images referenced in the email body?

During conversion the tool fetches remote images and embeds them in the XPS document, so the resulting file is self‑contained.

Do the XPS files include the original email attachments?

No, binary attachments such as PDFs, Word documents, or archives are left in the OST and are not rendered into the XPS output.

What is the maximum OST file size I can convert?

The size limit depends on your account tier; anonymous users have the smallest cap, free Aspose accounts allow a higher limit, and paid tiers provide larger upload allowances as listed on the pricing page.

How long are my files kept on the server after conversion?

Both the uploaded OST and the generated ZIP of XPS files are automatically deleted 24 hours after the conversion completes.
