One ODT file per email

The converter reads the uploaded MBOX archive sequentially and creates a separate OpenDocument Text (.odt) file for each message. A single‑message archive yields one .odt; a multi‑message archive produces a ZIP containing one .odt per message, named in the original order (message (1).odt, message (2).odt, …). This keeps each email isolated for individual editing.

Headers rendered as a clean metadata block

For every converted document the tool places the standard envelope fields—From, To, Cc (when present), Subject, and Date—at the top of the first page in a tidy metadata block. The date is shown in a readable format and Bcc is omitted, presenting the information a typical reader needs without exposing hidden recipients.

Body formatting, hyperlinks and inline images preserved

HTML body elements such as paragraphs, headings, lists, bold/italic/underline styling, font family, size, colour, tables and block quotes are transferred into the ODT document, maintaining their original layout. Hyperlinks (including mailto:) remain clickable, and any image embedded via a cid: reference is inserted directly at its original size, making each .odt self‑contained. Plain‑text‑only messages are rendered as fully selectable text.

Limits and scope

Upload size: Maximum MBOX file size varies by account tier; higher tiers allow larger archives.
Batch count: One MBOX archive is processed per request; the resulting ODT files are packaged as a ZIP when the archive contains multiple messages.
Retention: Source archives and generated ODT/ZIP files are deleted from the server 24 hours after conversion.
