All you need is a GIS file in any of the supported formats:
- kml, kmz
- geojson, json, topojson
- shp, dbf, shx, cpg, prj, qix
- mif, mid
- tab, map, id, dat

Notice to GeoTIFF: The GeoTIFF driver reads both GeoTIFF and regular TIFF files. The GeoTIFF implementation doesn't support ground control points (GCP). GCP is a custom grid.
GeoTIFF is a TIFF-based raster format. Uses the TIFF 6.0 specification, which adds several types of geotags. The new geotags contain georeferencing information.
PNG, Portable Network Graphics, refers to a type of raster image file format that use loseless compression. This file format was created as a replacement of Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) and has no copyright limitations.
