Convert OST to DOCX extracts every email stored in an Outlook .ost file and creates a separate modern Word .docx for each message, preserving the sender, recipients, subject and date as a metadata block and embedding all inline images directly in the document. The tool processes the entire uploaded .ost archive in one operation and returns a single .zip containing one .docx per email. Gradient‑framed: it handles email messages only; non‑email items in the .ost are not converted.
Each DOCX starts with a metadata block that records the original email’s From, To, Cc, Subject and Date exactly as in Outlook. The block appears at the top of the document, is searchable in Word, and lets users identify sender, recipients, topic and timestamp without opening the .ost file.
The converter reproduces the visual layout of the email body, keeping line breaks, indentation, bullet and numbered lists, and basic rich‑text styling such as bold, italics and underline. Simple tables and paragraph spacing are also transferred, so the DOCX mirrors the original look.
All images embedded inline in the original email are extracted from the .ost and inserted as native picture objects at the same locations in the Word document. This makes the visual appearance fully self‑contained, even on systems without network access.
When the uploaded .ost contains multiple emails, the tool creates an individual DOCX for each message and bundles them into a single ZIP archive. This provides separate, editable Word files while delivering a convenient single download.
The converter focuses exclusively on email items stored in the .ost file; calendar entries, contacts, tasks and other non‑email objects are ignored. This ensures every output document represents a meaningful email conversation, while other item types would require a different tool.
