The tool lets you extract every Outlook email from a PST file and save each one as an OpenDocument Text (ODT) document. Each ODT includes the message’s From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date as a metadata block followed by the full formatted body with inline images embedded. When the PST contains multiple messages the converter bundles all resulting ODT files into a single ZIP for one‑click download. Scope: converts all messages in the uploaded PST; it does not export attachments as separate files.

Full‑message extraction to ODT

The converter reads every email stored inside the uploaded Outlook .pst archive and creates an individual OpenDocument Text (.odt) file for each message. No selective exporting is needed; the tool processes the entire archive in one operation, ensuring that every correspondence in the PST is represented in the output set.

Header metadata block

Each generated ODT starts with a clearly formatted metadata block that lists the original message’s From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date fields. This block reproduces the routing information exactly as it appeared in Outlook, making it easy to identify the sender, recipients, and timestamp without opening the email body.

Body formatting and inline images

The email body is rendered with its original styling, including bold, italics, lists, and tables, and any inline or embedded images are inserted directly into the ODT content. Images are converted from their in‑memory representation within the PST, so the visual layout of the message matches the source, and the document remains fully viewable offline.

Bulk output packaged as ZIP

When the source PST contains more than one email, the converter automatically bundles all resulting ODT files into a single ZIP archive. This archive is delivered as one download, allowing users to retrieve the entire conversion batch in a single step and keep the files organized without manual zipping.

Limits and scope

One PST per submission
The converter accepts a single Outlook .pst file in each request; additional archives require separate conversions.
24‑hour file retention
Both the uploaded PST and the generated ODT/ZIP files are removed from the server 24 hours after the conversion completes.

FAQ

Does the ODT file include the email’s From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date?

Yes, each ODT starts with a metadata block that lists the original message’s From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date exactly as they appeared in Outlook.

Are inline images from the email embedded in the ODT document?

Yes, any inline or referenced images are rendered directly inside the ODT using an in‑memory copy of the message, so the visual layout matches the source email.

How are multiple emails handled in the output?

When the PST contains more than one message, the converter creates one ODT per email and then bundles all ODT files into a single ZIP archive for download.

What are the file‑size and batch limits for this conversion?

The free tier accepts smaller PST files and a limited number of messages per batch; signing in with a free Aspose account raises both the per‑file size cap and the allowed batch count, and paid tiers increase these limits further.

How long are uploaded PST files and the generated ODT/ZIP results kept on the server?

All uploaded PST files and the generated ODT or ZIP output are automatically deleted 24 hours after the conversion finishes.
