PST to EMF

Convert a PST mailbox to EMF – each email becomes a separate vector‑image file. The tool renders the message headers and body into a crisp, print‑ready EMF picture and delivers all files packaged in a ZIP that mirrors the original folder structure. Scope: visual renderings of messages only; attachments, Bcc lists and Outlook‑specific flags are not included in the EMF files.

One‑to‑many conversion with folder hierarchy

The converter opens the uploaded PST in read‑only mode and creates an EMF image for every email, walking all folders and subfolders. Each message is processed individually, so whether the mailbox contains a few items or thousands, every email receives its own vector file.

All EMF files are placed in a single ZIP whose internal directory structure mirrors the original mailbox hierarchy. The PST’s base name becomes the root folder, after which each Outlook folder path (Inbox, Sent Items, custom subfolders, etc.) is reproduced and the messages are named sequentially (message_1.emf, message_2.emf).

Exact visual rendering of headers and body

Each EMF starts with the standard email header block—From, To, Cc, Subject, Date—displayed in the same order and styling as Outlook. The body follows, preserving paragraph breaks, indentation, line spacing, bold, italic, underline, font families, colours, bullet/numbered lists, and tables.

Embedded CID images are decoded and baked directly into the vector picture, giving a self‑contained visual snapshot that does not rely on external resources.

Image handling and external media

Content‑ID images are rendered straight into the EMF. For images referenced via HTTP/HTTPS, the converter attempts to fetch each within a short time budget; reachable images are included, while those that cannot be retrieved in time are omitted, keeping the batch conversion fast.

Unicode and script support

Western Latin text uses the service’s default fonts for clear lettering. Emails written in CJK, Hebrew, Arabic, or other Unicode scripts are rendered with the closest matching substitute fonts, preserving readability and visual integrity across languages.

Scope of the output – visual only

The EMF files capture a print‑ready visual representation of each message’s headers and body. Binary attachments (PDFs, Office docs, separate images) and Outlook‑only metadata such as Bcc lists, read/unread status, categories, or flags are not included, focusing the output on archival‑ready visuals.

Limits and scope

Single PST per request

The converter processes one PST file at a time; additional mailboxes require separate uploads.

24‑hour file retention

Both the uploaded PST and the generated ZIP are automatically deleted from the server 24 hours after conversion.
