Convert Outlook .msg emails into reflowable EPUB e‑books, preserving the original Subject, From, To and Date as a top header block. The tool embeds any inline images directly into the EPUB so the e‑book is fully self‑contained and displays exactly as the email did in Outlook. It handles the message body and headers; attached files are not folded into the e‑book and must be saved separately.

Headers carried through

The converter extracts the email’s Subject, From, To, Cc and Date fields from the original Outlook .msg file and places them at the very beginning of the generated EPUB as a separate header block. This lets anyone opening the e‑book see who sent the message, the recipients and the timestamp before reading the body, preserving the essential routing information in a readable format.

Blind‑copy (Bcc) recipients are deliberately omitted from the header block, so their privacy is maintained when the EPUB is shared. This omission ensures that any confidential blind‑copy information does not become exposed in the e‑book, which is important for maintaining confidentiality while still providing a complete view of the visible participants and timing of the original Outlook message.

Message body formatting

When the source .msg contains an HTML body, the converter faithfully transforms that markup into styled, reflowable EPUB content. Paragraphs, headings, ordered and unordered lists, bold, italic, underline, font colors, and table structures are all preserved, allowing the e‑book to display the message with the same visual hierarchy and emphasis that the original email showed in Outlook.

If the message only includes a plain‑text body, the tool renders it as clean, fully reflowable paragraphs without any inline styling. This results in a tidy reading experience where line breaks and spacing are respected, while still allowing the e‑reader to adjust font size and layout to suit the device’s screen.

Inline images embedded

Any images that are embedded directly in the email body (identified by cid references) are packaged inside the EPUB file itself. By storing these visuals within the e‑book, the output becomes completely self‑contained, meaning readers can view all pictures offline without requiring an internet connection or external resources.

Images that are referenced only by external URLs remain external; they will be loaded by the e‑reader at display time. This works well for messages whose pictures are hosted on stable servers, while messages that rely on slow or unavailable remote hosts may experience delayed rendering, so for best results use emails with inline images when possible.

Fonts and non‑Latin scripts

Western Latin text is rendered using the default fonts embedded in the EPUB, ensuring crisp and readable characters across all e‑reader applications. The converter preserves basic typographic styling such as bold and italics, so the visual style of the original message is retained in the e‑book format.

For messages written in CJK, Hebrew, Arabic, or other non‑Latin scripts, the tool substitutes the closest available fonts during conversion. Most modern e‑readers then apply their own font fallback mechanisms, so readers typically see the correct glyphs on their device even if the exact original font was not embedded.

Limits and scope

File size

Maximum .msg size depends on your account tier; anonymous users have a lower limit, free Aspose accounts raise the per‑file cap, and higher‑tier plans allow larger uploads.

Retention

Uploaded .msg files and generated EPUBs are stored for 24 hours after conversion, then automatically removed.
