MSG to DOC

Convert an Outlook .msg email to a Word 97‑2003 .doc in a single step, preserving the message headers as a searchable metadata block at the top of the document. All inline images are embedded directly into the .doc so the visual layout matches the original email. The tool handles standard .msg files; messages in other email formats fall outside its scope.

Message headers become a searchable metadata block

The converter extracts the From, To, Cc, Subject and Date fields from the Outlook .msg file and places them together at the top of the Word 97‑2003 .doc as a plain‑text block. This block is fully searchable and can be selected, copied, or indexed by standard Word tools.

Inline and referenced images are embedded directly

All images that are part of the original email – whether embedded inline or linked from the message body – are rendered into the .doc from an in‑memory copy of the .msg. The resulting document shows the visual layout of the email without needing external image files.

Formatted body remains selectable and searchable text

The email body is converted into Word text that retains its original formatting (bold, italics, lists, tables, etc.). The text is selectable, searchable and can be edited after conversion, making the .doc suitable for further processing or archiving.

Limits and scope

File size per conversion

The service processes files up to the per‑file size limit of the chosen tier (higher limits with a free Aspose account or paid plans).

Retention period

Uploaded .msg files and the resulting .doc output are automatically removed from the server 24 hours after conversion completes.
