MBOX to RTF

Body text formatting preserved

Each email body is written to an RTF file with its original visual style, so bold, italic, underline, font family and paragraph indentation appear exactly as they did in the original message. The converter reproduces the exact spacing, line breaks and list structures, ensuring that the document looks just like the email when opened in any RTF‑compatible editor.

The tool also maintains the hierarchy of nested lists and quoted sections, keeping the visual flow of the conversation intact. Font sizes and colour attributes are transferred faithfully, so headings, emphasized text and regular paragraphs all retain their intended appearance in the final RTF output.

All messages in the archive are processed

When an MBOX file contains many individual emails, the tool creates one RTF file per message, so no content is omitted from the archive. Every message, regardless of its position in the mailbox, is extracted and saved separately, allowing you to work with each email as an independent document without needing to manually split the archive.

After conversion, the full set of resulting RTF files is bundled into a single ZIP file for convenient download, making it easy to handle large mailboxes in one step. This zip archive preserves the original order of messages by naming each file with its internal index, so you can quickly locate a specific email later.

Headers and attachments are excluded

The output RTF files contain only the message body; standard email headers such as From, To, Subject and Date are not placed in the document. This focus on the body keeps the resulting files clean and text‑centric, which is ideal for scenarios like content analysis, archiving readable excerpts, or importing into word processors without extra metadata.

Attachments are not embedded in the RTF files, which keeps the documents lightweight and focused on readable text.
