MBOX to MSG

Convert an MBOX archive into individual Outlook .msg files, one per original message. Each extracted .msg preserves the sender, recipients, subject, dates, body formatting and any attachments, letting you open the messages directly in Outlook. ⚡ The tool’s scope is limited to producing a ZIP archive of .msg files; it does not modify message content.

Message metadata retained

Each generated .msg file reproduces the full header information from the original MBOX entry. The sender, all recipients (To, Cc and Bcc), the subject line and the exact sent and received timestamps are transferred, so when opened in Outlook the message displays exactly as it did in the source client, preserving conversation threading and searchability.

Body formatting and inline images

The converter keeps the email body unchanged: HTML bodies retain their original styling, fonts, colours and layout, while plain‑text bodies remain plain. Any images that were embedded inline in the source message are re‑embedded in the .msg, ensuring they appear in the same positions inside Outlook without requiring separate attachments.

Attachments and ZIP packaging

All attachments attached to each email are copied into the corresponding .msg file, preserving file names and types so they can be opened or saved directly from Outlook. Because an MBOX archive usually contains many messages, the complete collection of .msg files is bundled into a single ZIP archive, providing a convenient single download package.
