Convert an MBOX archive into separate HTML files, one per email, with the message headers shown as a top metadata block. External images are fetched during rendering with a short per‑image timeout, so a few slow links won’t delay the whole batch. Scope: all messages in the uploaded mailbox are converted and packaged into a ZIP; non‑HTML attachments are not extracted.

Metadata block with standard headers

Each HTML file starts with a metadata block that lists From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date exactly as in the original email. The original header order and values are kept, so any custom headers appear in the same sequence. The block is plain text inside the HTML, making it easy to copy, search, or export.

Body rendering and inline resources

The email body is rendered as formatted HTML, preserving tables, lists, bold/italic styling, and hyperlinks. Images embedded with cid references are transferred unchanged. For external image URLs, the converter fetches each image with a short per‑image timeout, embedding those that load quickly and skipping slow or dead links to keep conversion fast.

One file per message, packaged as ZIP

Every message in the uploaded MBOX archive becomes its own .html file. When multiple messages are present, all HTML files are automatically bundled into a single ZIP archive for download, allowing easy access to individual emails while providing a convenient container for bulk retrieval.

FAQ

How are the original email headers presented in the HTML files?

Each HTML file starts with a metadata block that lists the From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date headers exactly as they appear in the original email, preserving the original order and any custom headers.

What does the converter do with external images referenced in an email?

External image URLs are fetched during conversion with a short per‑image timeout; images that load within the timeout are embedded inline, while slow or dead links are skipped to keep the conversion fast.

Are CID‑embedded images retained in the output?

Images that are embedded in the source email using CID references are transferred unchanged and appear in the resulting HTML exactly as they were in the original message.

What is the maximum file size and batch count allowed for converting MBOX to HTML?

Anonymous users are limited to the free‑tier file‑size cap and batch count; signing in with a free Aspose account raises both limits, and paid tiers increase them further.

How long are uploaded files and conversion results retained on the server?

All uploaded source files and generated HTML/ZIP outputs are automatically deleted 24 hours after the conversion completes.
