Split an MBOX archive into individual .eml files, each preserving the original headers, body content and attachments. The tool packages the resulting .eml messages into a single ZIP file for easy download. It works well for any standard MBOX from Thunderbird, Apple Mail or similar clients; the tool’s scope is limited to producing a ZIP of the split messages, not other output formats.
Each generated .eml file contains the original email headers such as From, To, Cc, Subject, Date and Message‑Id exactly as they appear in the source MBOX, ensuring that mail clients can recognise and organise the messages correctly.
The converter writes the message body unchanged; plain‑text parts remain plain text, while HTML parts keep all formatting, links and styling so that the visual appearance in the receiving client matches the original.
All MIME attachments are copied into the corresponding .eml file, and any inline images retain their Content‑ID references, allowing the images to display inside the message body without extra steps.
