Convert your .eml email files into fully editable Microsoft Word .docx documents. The converter preserves the standard email headers—From, To, Cc, Subject and Date—at the top of the document and embeds any inline images exactly where they appear in the original message. ⚠️ This tool converts only the message body and inline images; other attachments are not included.

Headers preserved at top of document

The converter extracts the standard email headers—From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date—and writes them into a dedicated header block at the very beginning of the .docx. The labels appear bolded, values as normal text, and the order matches the source. Bcc is omitted for privacy, while all displayed headers remain fully editable in Word.

Rich body formatting retained

All visual styling from the email body is mapped to native Word formatting. Paragraph breaks, heading levels, bulleted and numbered lists, bold, italic, underline, font colours, and tables are reproduced so the document mirrors the original layout. Plain‑text‑only messages become a single paragraph preserving line breaks without extra styling.

Inline images embedded in place

Any image embedded directly in the email (inline CID images) is converted into a standard picture object placed at the same location in the Word file. The binary data is stored inside the .docx, making the picture visible offline. Alt‑text, when present, is carried over, and no external image URLs remain.

Hyperlinks stay clickable

Web links and mailto: addresses found in the email are kept as active hyperlinks in the Word output. Both the visible anchor text and the underlying URL are preserved, and Word applies its usual blue‑underline style, so the links are clickable immediately after opening the document.

FAQ

Are the standard email headers included in the converted Word document?

The converter extracts the From, To, Cc, Subject, and Date headers and writes them into a dedicated header block at the very beginning of the .docx; Bcc lines are omitted.

Will inline images from the email be placed at the same location in the .docx?

Inline CID images become in‑document pictures placed at the same spot as in the email. Images from external URLs are fetched during conversion; if they fail to load in time, they are omitted.

Do web and mailto links stay clickable in the output document?

Both web hyperlinks and mailto: addresses are preserved as active clickable links, with the original anchor text and target URL retained in the Word file.

What is the maximum number of .eml files I can convert in a single submission?

You can upload up to 10 .eml files at once. The total size of the uploaded files must stay within the limit of your account tier – anonymous users have the lowest cap, a free Aspose account raises it, and higher‑tier plans allow larger uploads.

How long are the converted documents kept on the server?

The download link remains active for 24 hours after the conversion finishes; after that the files are deleted and are no longer available.
